1. Floppy disk drive.


A floppy disk drive is a very convenient external information storage device for a computer. After inserting the floppy disk into the drive, the servo motor drives the spindle to rotate, making the disk rotate in the disk sleeve. The magnetic head cart is installed on the magnetic head car, and the stepping motor drives the magnetic head car through the transmission mechanism to convert its step angle into the magnetic head displacement. This allows the disk data to be read. Each row takes one more step to advance the motor, and the head moves.



2. Dot matrix printer driver.


It uses the driving principle of machinery and circuits to make the printing needle collide with the printing medium, then print a dot matrix, and then use the dot matrix to form characters or graphics to complete the printing work. Structurally, the needle type printer is composed of two parts: the printing mechanism and the drive control circuit. There are three kinds of mechanical movements during printing: the lateral movement of the printing head, the vertical movement of the printing paper and the striker movement of the printing needle.


Through some precision machinery, this kind of movement is realized by software control. Among them, the print head driver (also known as "carriage mechanism") uses a stepping motor and a gear reducer, and uses a synchronous toothed belt to drive the car for the horizontal direction. Movement, its step speed depends on the number of drive pulses per unit time - by changing the step speed, the print kerning can be changed.



3. Computerized embroidery machine drive.


The computerized embroidery machine is developed from the computerized sewing machine. For a long time, the sewing machine industry has been dominated by mechanical technology. Since the introduction of electronics in the 1970s, it has entered the era of mechatronics controlled by microcomputers. The computer sewing machine adopts a four-axis CNC single-chip microcomputer.


The CNC system controls two stepping motors in the x-y direction to drive the table to move in a plane, and at the same time monitors the up and down movement of the embroidery needle to drive the spindle motor to rotate, thereby controlling the intermittent movement of the x-y axis and the embroidery needle. Based on this, the computer sewing machine has also added functional modules such as thread break detection and data storage to make it work stably and conveniently.



4. Computer plotter.


The stepping motor can accurately convert the pulse amount into angular displacement or linear displacement. It is a typical discrete actuator and can easily form an open-loop or closed-loop control system. It can cooperate with the computer for digital control, and is widely used in various equipment or equipment to realize the control of speed, rotation angle or position and trajectory.



5. Machining equipment.


Stepper motors are also widely used in actuators and machining devices that drive mechanical moving parts. Using open-loop control, the system structure is simple and has a certain motion control accuracy. When the transmission of the worktable or the tool holder is to achieve high movement or positioning accuracy, the position and displacement sensors (such as code disc encoder, grating or magnetic sensor, induction synchronizer, etc.) should be used to accurately measure the worktable or tool holder. ) to feedback the position, and can also control the speed of the motor through the feedback of the speed sensor.
